The first week of medical posting at HRPZ II. the three first day was very enjoyable. Coz we not met with the head of the department yet. Haha. Disaster! Hari first macam orang blur, dok follow Medical Officer (MO) & House Officer (HO). Mana mereka ade, pasti kami ade. Nasib la HO pun ok. MO lak de sorang tu macam kerek. Depan specialist dok tergedik-gedik macam banyak kerja. Bila specialist bla, dia la manusia paling hebat “buat-buat busy”. Perempuan lak tu. Tipah tertipu bang! Haha. Yang tak tahan tu boleh plak dorang buat muke ketakutan nk minta examination chart kat kitorang.
Hari pertama macam tak buat ape sangat. Kami pergi clerk case. Tapi berpasangan la. Punya la nak avoid fresh case, tup tup gedegang. Fresh & HO pun tak clerk lagi. Kui3. Dok sibuk-sibuk buat PE, HO pun datang nak clerk. Jadi nak dijadikan cerita, alang-alang tu kitorang terus je la present case kat HO tu. HO tu ex-USM gak. (bagus. Bagus, senang sikit nak minta signature nanti.) staff nurse pula hampir-hampir suruh kami amik blood. Nasib HO selamat kan kami. Huish! Lega. Kalau tak, ketar-ketar la dok amik blood.
Hari kedua follow up case hari first. Dok follow MO & HO lagi… kali ni MO lak yang tanya. Nasib dia tanya finding je. Tu pun cam serabut je nak buat differential diagnosis. Rasa macam hebat gila MO tu… tak terjangkau akal berfikir sampai ke situ. Seminar pun berjalan lancar kerana Dr.R masih tak wujud. Kui3
Hari ketiga ~ disaster day. Memang kene hentam habis-habisan. Dengan berbekalkan 4 patah perkataan sahaja terus fail. Buat muka tak heran. Sebab senior awal-awal lagi da pesan, masuk medical punye posting hati kene kebal. Hati batu pun tak pe. Biar la orang nak kata takde perasaan. Kesian pada Adrian. 2kali kena tembak. Lepas tu mood dia terus down. *adrian, u must be strong enough ok. Don’t cry.
kami ingat ayat ni until last posting “U’re not invited, but we received an order from ur school”
Last day for the first week, kami tak sabar nak tunggu pukul 4. Hari ni boleh balik awal.Nak balik! Minggu ni tidur pling lame 4jam je. Semalam tidur tak sampai 2jam. Badan sangat letih. Nak qada’ tidur. Dr.R kata our knowledge is 50 years back. Not updated. Adui. Tolong la. Kami guna Kumar & Clark latest edition ok. Buku tu bukan beli seposen dapat. Lagi satu baca journal dental pun setakat baca abstrak, inikan nak baca journal medical. Tolong la paham. Ermm…Orang kalau da kaya sangat memang macam ni lah. Mulut memang langsung tak reti nak bagi insurans. I’ll remembered this word. Since kami menuntut ilmu dengan dia, kami kena la hormat die. No choice. Last day ni banyak input yang kami dapat. Teruja. Macam pro sangat je. Padahal dok tanya je kerja kami. Hehe.
Last case yang aku clerk untuk minggu ni, memang very interesting. Patient was 28 years Malay women came to the hospital because of lethargy. This is due to persistance vomiting1 day before. Patient look cachexic. Lethargy. I saw multiple black spot on the hand. I could see mutiple complication of the disease on her. I was suspecting that the patient may have Retroviral disease. This mean I need double protection. Searching for the patient folder… not there. I’m not going underestimate her or blaming her. Cause I’m sure if its true she definetely have reason behind all this. Since the patient have bilateral deafness due to viral infection on her nerves, I’ve to ask everything to her mother. Its not easy for me to clerk. U know, how tough it is to ask the patient to reveal. I’m definetly sure her mother wil not reveal this to me. Try my best to build up the rapport. She was married 11 years ago and have 2 daughter. I don’t know, but my brain really stuck. I look into her eyes. She was smiling at me. I don’t even know how to react. Just smiling back at her. The problem is not how she get the disease. But how people react toward this. Their stigma. The sense of human-being. Really make me disappointed. This is not the 1st RVD patient I’ve encounter insteadthe 5th one.
And the last day of my week is closing at HUSM Dental clinic. I’ve got sms from my patient just 15 minute before the clinic start said that she could not make it today. Again. Kelam kabut cari patient. And there was no walk in patient on Thursday. I was looking around the clinic, asking any staff if they need any treatment. Finally end up mt assistant be my patient. Haha. Kesian ko Dina. But a bunch of thanks sebab sudi jadi patient aku. Hehe Hari pertama sedikit kelam kabut. Dina just prepared examination tray for me. The rest I’ve prepared by myself. Dina keep blaming herself for not preparing all those stuff. Never mind, I’m not going to mad at U. coz I know this is the first time. Kita belajar. Hey babe, u should be thankful for having me as ur dental partner. Don’t only know how to put the blame on yourself. Haha Terperasan plak.
